signed bottom right "Rud.Quittner" Exhibitions: Biennale in Venice (1907), Paris, Munich, Düsseldorf, Dresden, Berlin and several times at the „Wiener Künstlerhaus“, where his artistic estate was also shown.
Rudolf Quittner was an Austrian Impressionist painter. Already during his technical degree Quittner had engaged in painting, finally he attended the Académie Julian in Paris and also received lessons in landscape painting from Camille Pissarro. For study purposes, he travelled almost all over Europe, the Orient and North America (USA, Canada and Mexico). In between he lived in Paris, where he was mentored by Claude Monet, and from 1901 also in Vienna. From 1905 on, he was a member of the “Gesellschaft der bildenden Künstler Wiens” (Vienna Association of Fine Artists).
