    Description

In 1900, the Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermühle glassworks had their international breakthrough at the World Exhibition in Paris thanks to their colorful glassware. Oftentimes the various types of decoration had the working title “Phenomenon Genre”. Many variants could be determined beyond doubt, but some are still unidentified today, because most of the pattern cuts of the Loetz glassworks from the years 1900-1903 were destroyed.
This vase bears such an unidentified decor and is thus a rarity. The interplay of the cheerful, vibrant green of this important Loetz vase is in harmony with the gold-green silver oxide threads that wrap around the vase like delicate leafwork. The double baluster shape adds to the special character of the vessel.
