In the years between 1898 and 1903, the glass manufactory Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermühle designed a variety of decor variants. Especially the decor Medici or phenomenon Genre 2/484 found great appeal among lovers of this extraordinary glasswork. The combination of strongly iridescent silver crumbled tongues and luminous color base met the taste of the customers at that time. Particularly striking in this vase are the turquoise iridescent silver oxides, which spread over the yellow to maroon colored ground from the bottom of the vase upwards. The contrast between the strong iridescence and the classic, reduced basic form is of particular interest with this piece. Individual spots absorb the light varicolored and shimmer in different shades.
