    Description

Although the cut of this vase from the Johann Loetz Witwe glassworks is not among the documented designs of Leopold Bauer, its powerful volume and compact form clearly reflect a strong stylistic connection to his work. For this reason, we attribute the vase to Leopold Bauer.
The Ausführung 145 decor, featuring steel-gray threads swirling in a diagonal marbling pattern on a Camellia-red ground, closely resembles the Titania decors, which were frequently paired with Bauer’s designs. On the vase’s sleek, modern form, this decor unfolds its full visual impact with striking elegance.
