    Description

The highly sophisticated Phenomen genre decors played a defining role in the glass production of Johann Loetz Witwe around 1900. Characterized by intricately applied thread decoration and a lustrous metallic iridescence, these designs rank among the manufactory’s most elaborate and successful creations.
The decor 1/473 is one of the rarer variants of the genre. The bottle-shaped vase is set against a soft rose-colored ground, ist lower section covered with irregularly sized, oval silver-oxide particles. Their delicate yellow-gold shimmer extends seamlessly into the four slender, finely drawn handles that emerge organically from the glass body, creating a captivating interplay of light and an exceptionally rich, luminous iridescence.
