    Description

Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to watch a glassblower at work, can imagine how challenging
the production of large objects is, simply because of their weight and gravity. If such a huge vessel is also
paired with an appropriate decoration, it becomes a masterpiece. Relief-like applications cover the entire
surface of this vase like a vegetal ornament. On the green ground, named “Creta” at Loetz glassworks, a lush
vegetation is suggested. The elaborately lobed mouth is modeled after the shape of a flower, reinforcing the
vegetal character of the Formosa decor. This vase impressively shows the implementation of floral forms in
Art Nouveau artefacts and simultaneously fascinates with its colorfully iridescent decoration.
