    Description

Gustav Gurschner designed various utensils for a study or representative office, such as table lamps or writing sets. At the turn of the 20th century, writing utensils usually meant to be utensils for ink pens. Thus, on this set we find two inkwells and a tray for pens. Letters or other stationery could be placed between the two inkwells.
The writing set is made of cast bronze, polished, and flanked on the left and right side by two square, towering inkwells. Rectangular fields bear decorations flat in relief, like spirals or triangular band patterns, further emphasized by silver plating. Thanks to the combination of gold and silver, this object embodies the idea of a precious item, perfectly suited for representative purposes.
