    Description

Karl Hagenauer designed the liqueur bowls featuring a dancer as early as the late 1920s, during the formative years of the Werkstätte Hagenauer. Originally crafted from alpaca silver or sterling silver, the bowls were later also produced in nickel-plated brass to enhance their durability, particularly for overseas export.

Gracefully poised on tiptoe with one knee elegantly bent, the dancers balance their delicate bowls above their heads. Their elongated limbs and charming details, such as the tiny bun, lend the figures a refined elegance. The design was likely inspired by the revue dancers of the grand Parisian cabarets, who captivated audiences across Europe in the 1920s.

As pieces from the early years of the Werkstätte Hagenauer, these liqueur bowls are highly sought after by collectors.
