Description
Depictions of animals were a popular motif throughout the Werkstatte Hagenauer’s entire period of activity. This seated dog was designed around 1950 and is particularly impressive due to its faithful, reduced and expressive depiction. The statuette is made from a single piece and executed in high quality.
The condensation of the motif and the concise, comic-like details demonstrate the mastery of stylistic reduction for which the Werkstatte Hagenauer was known.
