    Description

Playfully depicting a horse in the very moment of levade, the two Hagenauer brothers designed a classic of Werkstatte Hagenauer. Typical features of this elegant horse are its finely worked nostrils, mane, and tail. With its curved forms, the statuette appears dynamic and graceful at the same time.
It was offered by Werkstatte Hagenauer both as a stand-alone horse sculpture, as well as imaginative base for a table lamp with a female rider, well documented in the company’s 1928 sales catalog. Because of its typical features, we attribute this design to the older of the two siblings, Karl Hagenauer.
