    Description

Alessandro Pianon was an Italian designer best known for his charming glass sculptures of Pulcini—the Italian word for “chicks.” Born in Venice in 1931, Pianon established himself in the world of glass art with his distinctive designs after completing his studies there. For many years, he served as artistic director at Seguso Vetri d’Arte before being commissioned to design a new company logo for Vetreria Vistosi. This collaboration evolved into a close business relationship, and soon, his Pulcini were being produced by Vistosi.

The Pulcini series consists of five bird sculptures, each with a unique shape and color. Available in vibrant shades of orange, green, yellow, turquoise, and blue, they delicately balance on thin copper wire legs. Despite their variations, all Pulcini share a common trait: their vivid colors and often eccentric forms are irresistibly captivating.
