    Description

At the turn of the century, glassware with metal mounts enjoyed great popularity. This vase impresses with its quadruply indented body, slender, elongated neck, and elegantly wavy rim. It rests on a silver-plated pewter mount with small feet, lending the vase elegance and lightness. The mount, crafted by the company Van Hauten, Sohn, is characterized by stylized, highly simplified floral motifs and fine chased details. The cool sheen of the metal forms an effective contrast to the vibrant orange-red hue of the glass, which is interwoven with delicate, fine veining.
