    Description

From the very beginning, the Hagenauer brothers pursued the goal of reduction to the essentials. They spent considerable time refining the design of a lighting fixture that could rotate in all directions. Their aim was to present such a lamp at the 1951 Triennale in Milan, and as early as 1949/50, they registered the Winkelpatent Flamingo Hagenauer Wien.

The design, based on interlocking brass tubes, is entirely function-driven: the combination of three angles—two obtuse and one right—allows the lamp, and thus the beam of light, to be precisely directed.
This sophisticated construction enabled various lamp designs, resulting in unique Hagenauer creations that are now highly sought-after examples of 1950s design.
