    Description

As a sculptor and designer of decorative arts, Franz Hagenauer played a dual role. Among his most significant works in both fields are his chased metal pieces.
The copper bowl, with ist modern rectangular shape, was designed by Hagenauer in the 1940s. Beyond ist aesthetic appeal, his mastery of the chasing technique was a key element of the design. This ancient metalworking method, in which metal is shaped through precise hammering with chisels, punches, or mallets, requires only a few simple tools—yet allows for an impressive range of expression.
Hagenauer deliberately left tool marks visible to highlight the craftsmanship and add depth and vibrancy to the surface. The fusion of modern design language with traditional craftsmanship gives this piece ist timeless and distinctive character.
