    Description

Karl and Franz Hagenauer recognized early on the potential of drawing inspiration from popular and seemingly trivial elements of the global entertainment industry for their designs. Within their series of stylized animals—often depicted in grotesque poses—Felix the Cat appears as one of the most famous American cartoon characters of the silent film era.
Cast in brass and nickel-plated, the figure balances on its paws, forming an elegant, flowing silhouette. As an icon of the 1920s, Felix embodies modernity, openness to new technologies, and the internationally minded approach of Hagenauer Werkstätte.
