    Description

The candleholder, designed by Franz Hagenauer, is defined by its minimalist design. It features a sturdy central column with two arms on each side, all built from simple geometric shapes.
The true beauty of the piece reveals itself upon closer inspection. The base, the surface of the central column, and the flat candle holders are decorated with tightly spaced punch marks. These floral, geometric, and abstract patterns are arranged in horizontal and vertical bands, adding rich texture and an ornamental quality to the surface. The arms of the candleholder are each adorned with a diagonal hammered finish.
Through this surface treatment, Hagenauer emphasizes the handcrafted nature of the object, drawing attention to the tools used in metalworking. The ornamentation emerges directly from the crafting process, embodying the essence of modern Viennese Arts & Crafts.
