Bronze sculpture “Close bond” Mario Dalpra 2020

Born in Austrian Vorarlberg in 1960, Mario Dalpra enrolled in Arnulf Rainer’s master class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1982. The versatile artist initially worked as a painter, participated in several performances and created also installations.
In 1998 Dalpra began to work on his first wood sculptures and in 2006 he finished his first bronze works. In the following years, he devoted himself to this technique, and bronze sculptures became “signature” objects in his oeuvre.
With its fantastic forms, the “Innige Verbindung” (Close bond) also bristles with Dalpra’s exuberant imagination. Despite its apparent lightness, a great deal of craftsmanship has gone into this cheerful sculpture. The bronze work is perfectly crafted and radiates pure joie de vivre in its vibrant chrome finish.
