Bird-shaped centerpieces were among the most popular export items of Werkstatte Hagenauer. Such bird bowls were already being produced back in the 1930s. This medium-sized jardiniere is masterfully chased from one single sheet of brass, testifying to superb craftsmanship. Its elegant, hammered technique is clearly visible and enlivens the stylized body. As a special stylistic element, the bird’s neck is turned back, rounding out the elegant line of the bowl.
