Description
Born in Austrian Vorarlberg in 1960, Mario Dalpra enrolled in Arnulf Rainer’s master class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1982. The versatile artist initially worked as a painter, participated in several performances and also created installations.
In 1998 Dalpra began to work on his first wood sculptures and in 2006 he realized his first bronze works. In the following years, he devoted himself to this technique, and bronze sculptures became “signature” objects in his oeuvre.
His bronze figures often display flowing forms and strong colors. Thus, the dark-red lacquered “Invincible” or “Indomable” is also characterized by fluid contours. The sensual component of the organic shape is even emphasized by its silky lacquered surface.
This very harmonious object should ideally be placed freely in a room, so that it can be admired from different angles and its variety of forms is shown to its best advantage.
