Werkstatte Hagenauer produced figurines of horses in various materials such as metal or wood. With their designs the brothers Karl and Franz Hagenauer perfectly succeeded in capturing dynamic movements of the beautiful animals.
\nThe formal language is typical for the Werktstatte Hagenauer in the period around 1940, reducing it to the essential, elegant and playful. Galloping or rising horses are depicted both individually placed or as seen here, in groups of two or more animals, forming small lively sceneries. Like motion studies, the Hagenauer brothers masterfully capture the dynamics of movement in a sculptural snapshot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
