    Description

Karl and Franz Hagenauer had a passion for sports—a passion clearly reflected in many creations of the Werkstätte Hagenauer. Whether depicting skiers or polo players in the early years, or later boxers, tennis players, and golfers, athletic pursuits with a touch of cosmopolitan lifestyle were a recurring theme in their artfully crafted sculptures.
This stylized skier figure embodies both movement and elegance. Carved from wood, the figure captures the essence of a downhill run through ist minimalist form—full of dynamic energy and forward momentum. Skis and poles, made of brass, provide a striking contrast to the warm tones of the wood. The interplay of materials, along with the clean, stylized lines, are hallmarks of Hagenauer’s distinctive design language.
