    Description

The conch shell shape was one of the most popular themes of the naturalistic series in the production of the Johann Loetz-Witwe glass works. Vases in the shape of seashells feature a wide variety of decor variations, including Neptune, Diaspora, Asträa, several Phenomen decor variations, Papillon and, as here, Zephir Chiné with Creta.
The pointed vase at the bottom is supported by a base of coral branches. The corals are formed out of Creta green glass and providing an intense contrast to the zephyr opal glass shell body.
